The Moped Outpost in Seward, Alaska operates from a trailer along the sidewalk on the southern corner of the south harbor parking lot off 4th Street, near the Gateway Hotel.

No. A standard drivers license is all you need to rent and ride our Lance Cali Classic 50cc mopeds. Riders must be 18 or older.

No, previous experience is not required. Our mopeds are beginner friendly, and we provide a quick orientation when you arrive. We will show you how to start, stop, park, and safely operate the moped before you begin your ride.

Our Lance Cali Classic 50cc mopeds reach a maximum speed of 25 to 30 miles per hour.

Every rental includes:
A DOT approved helmet
A bike lock
A Lance Cali Classic 50cc moped
A quick orientation and instructions when you arrive

Late returns incur a $15 fee for every 15 minutes past the scheduled return time. This ensures mopeds are available for the next rider and helps keep the schedule running smoothly. Riders needing to adjust their return time should contact The Moped Outpost in advance to coordinate.

Riders are responsible for any damages. Fees are:
Minor damage such as a broken mirror, or surface level scratches on the plastic body panel that are longer than six inches: $75 dollars
Multiple item damage such as multiple broke mirrors, kickstands, or lights: $200 dollars
Major body damage from crashes: Price will vary, dependent on cost of repair
Full replacement charges apply when a moped is damaged beyond repair or cannot be safely rented again. Charges include the cost of a new moped, shipping, taxes, and any additional costs required to restore the fleet to rental‑ready condition.

Seward is home to bears, moose, and other wildlife. Riders are responsible for their own safety while exploring. The Moped Outpost is not responsible for injuries or incidents involving wildlife, natural hazards, or other vehicles.

These destinations offer scenic rides and access to some of Sewards most iconic landscapes. Riders should not travel past Bear Creek along the highway, as the road becomes unsafe for low speed vehicles.

Yes 2 people can ride on a moped; however, there is a 315 lbs weight limit per vehicle, and 40% add on fee for the second rider.

100% Refund for cancellations over 24 hours prior to start of reservation.
50% Refund for cancellations under 24 hours prior to start of reservation.
No Refunds for no call/ no show.

Yes. We provide a quick orientation when you arrive. We will show you how to start, stop, park, and safely operate the moped before you begin your ride. We do not accompany riders on the road or provide ongoing instruction during the rental. Our role is to ensure you understand how to use the vehicle, and you are responsible for operating it safely once your ride begins.
